Unfortunately we got turned around by low clouds.

I was pretty bummed about not skiing Brunswick so I waited a few days until after 5PM on Friday, June 20th when summer officially arrived. What better way to celebrate the first night of summer with some skiing.

It is not too often there is enough snow within Vancouver city limits for skiing in summer, so Trevor and I headed off to Cypress Mountain for a few turns.

The first couple of hundred feet were not pretty but if ya gotta ski, ya gotta ski. Trevor proving my point.

We were rewarded to the setting sun shining on Mt. Baker. Hopefully we’ll be skiing that sometime in the next few weeks.

Believe it or not, we actually had some good turns.

On my way home from an errand in Burnaby, I stopped by the new Burnaby Mountain Bike Skills Park. Very impressive. Lots of great looking features including wooden stunts, ladders, bridges, skinnies, rock features and drops, a pump track, dirt jumps, slalom course, etc... I wish I had one of these in my backyard growing up.

Next time I’m bringing a bike.
